On our way to 100 days...

We are getting very excited - we have almost been in school for 100 days!  The children started counting on the first day of school and slowly but surely, that number has been climbing!  It's hard to believe it is almost here!

On Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011, we will be celebrating the 100th day of school.  We will be doing many activities with the number 100, and counting to 100 in many ways.  We would like each child had a collection of 100 things with them on that day.  These 100 items must fit into a plastic shopping bag that your child can easily carry to school by themselves.  There are many easy collection ideas you may already have in your home:

pennies, bread tags, Cheerios (or any cereal), noodles, buttons, cotton balls, pieces of paper, beads, pieces of ribbon, Lego pieces, Popsicle sticks, straws, toothpicks, rubber bands, paper clips, mini marshmallow, stickers, screws, pretzel sticks etc.

Anything that can be counted individually will work.  Please encourage your child to help you count the items to make sure they have 100.

Stay tuned for an up close look at our 100 Day celebrations!
