How Does Your Garden Grow?

A very exciting project is underway in our community.  Neighbours, friends and community members are working together and have established a community garden in Bruce Park.  We were excited to get an opportunity to take part in this community event.  Along with Mrs. Richardson's grade one class, we walked over to Bruce Park with 35 pepper plants.

The sun was shining, and the community garden was taking shape.  We worked together to plant and water our pepper plants.  We will return once a week to check on sure plants (and the rest of the garden).  Over the summer, there are community members and neighbours who have committed to take care of the garden.  We hope to be able to try some of the vegetables when we return in the fall.

Look At Those Pearly Whites...

Last week, we were lucky enough to visit the St. Clair College Dental Clinic.  This gave us an opportunity for free dental check ups, cleanings, fluoride treatments as well as dental education.  Each student also received a free toothbrush.

The building we visited at St. Clair College is brand new, and just opened this year.  The facilities were state of the art, and the program was fantastic.  Each student had fun and the students and teachers at St. Clair were wonderful.  Thank you to our parent volunteers who travelled with us!

At each station, the children had their own television to watch during the check up and cleaning.  They were able to choose what they would like to watch!
